Battery Checks

Chubb Test Batteries Using Specialised Equipment

Batteries are a critical part of your security system. Fully functioning batteries ensure your security system continues to operate in ‘battery backup mode’ in the event of a power failure or a power cut. Batteries are not limited to your security panel. They can also be included in door controllers and data gathering panels.

Not only are we able to provide you with advice on the state of your security system batteries, but we can also leave you with the peace of mind that your security system will work when you expect it to. As part of a service call or maintenance visit, our service technicians can test your systems batteries, using specialised equipment.

five reasons to have your batteries tested

1. Your security system can function as expected.
2. Batteries that are not checked may not be able to maintain your alarm system during a power failure.
3. Old batteries may catch fire, leak fluid or give off noxious fumes.
4. If batteries are not replaced, they could potentially cause damages to your alarm system.
5. Low battery alarms are transmitted by alarm systems when batteries are not fully functioning. These alarms are transmitted at the cost of a local call if you have GSM or dialler technology. If you wait until you receive a low battery alarm, you may experience a large number of phone calls on your phone bill.

what can you do?

If you already receive regular service calls from Chubb, ask to have a battery test included in your next service call. Alternatively ask one of our service technicians to include a battery test whilst doing a service or preventative maintenance check.
